Prep: 5 min Cook: 10 min Total: 15 min Serves: 1

Why This Works

Gingerols in fresh ginger have been shown to support digestive function and may help ease occasional nausea and bloating.

Vitamin C from lemon is a well-known antioxidant that supports immune function and helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

Raw honey contains natural enzymes and antioxidants that may support throat comfort and provide a gentle energy boost without refined sugar.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Ginger — 3-5 thin slices (~5g)
  • Lemon — 1, juiced
  • Raw Honey — 1-2 teaspoons
  • Warm Water — 1 cup (~240ml)

Instructions

1

Prepare the Ginger

Wash fresh ginger and cut into thin slices. The thinner the slices, the more easily the beneficial compounds are released.

Steep the Ginger

Place ginger slices in a cup and pour freshly boiled hot water over them. Let steep for about 10 minutes to allow the ginger's active compounds to fully infuse.

Tips & Notes

  • Use water no hotter than 40°C/104°F when adding lemon and honey to preserve their heat-sensitive nutrients.
  • For a stronger ginger flavor, lightly crush the slices before steeping.
  • Best enjoyed in the morning on an empty stomach or between meals.
  • You can add a pinch of turmeric for additional antioxidant support.
